Ok, it's probably been obvious to some people on the forums for a while, but I thought I should make it official: I am no longer working on or planning to work on Synching Thunder in the future.
The why is easy: you code open source software because you enjoy it and because you have time to do it. I no longer enjoy, or have time to work on this project, so it's not really fair that I keep getting peoples hopes up promising to fix things that in reality, I can't or don't have time to do. There were some more translations and fixes in the pipeline, and some of those are in CVS, but others I never got time to do.... read more
Contains (hopefully) a minor fix for the invalid folder type problem.
For those of you using this product without problems, this new release is not for you.
For those that have tried it in the past and were getting errors (or are currently getting errors), then give this one a try.
Due to me losing some files (oops) this won't uninstall your current version, so I recommend uninstalling your old one first, and then installing this. It will remember all your favourites and settings, so no worries there :)
Synching Thunder is now in German (it let's you choose English or German when you first launch it). Tried to allocate it a bit more memory as well to see if that would fix the problems that people are having. Enjoy :)
Hi all,
I've posted an important announcement to: http://synchingthunder.sourceforge.net/ about the future of the Synching Thunder project.
Rusty
- Added support for messages without unique id's (some drafts, some mail imported from external programs)
- Sped up synchronization
- Finally created a windows installer...makes Synching Thunder a breaze to install!
- Fixed out of memory errors
- Added more robust error handling (program should now report all problems that occur)
- Added preliminary support for remembering selected folders - when a new favourite is added any folders that are currently selected will be remembered. Cannot be updated without creating a new favourite.
- upgraded to mstor v0.9.7
It's been a while coming and doesn't have everything that I wanted, but it does have:
- UI remembers last opened state
- Backup tool added to make backing up a breeze
- Packaged into one executable jar, no more need to unzip lots of others, just double-click from anywhere and it will run!
Has support for some nice things like favourites...check it out.
Hi all, version 0.2 has just been released. For those of you who already used synching thunder before it came to source forge, this is identical to the original 0.2, but with some different icons (the previous ones were licensed only to me).
Future versions will release source as well, but for now you should be able to get it out of CVS :-)
I'm currently porting Synching Thunder from it's current domain:
http://rimi.customer.netspace.net.au/dev/synchingthunder/
to SourceForge. This should hopefully be completed soon.
