This new SVN version is great! It does support OpenSSL 3 too. :-)

1.) Please change the version number from 40.1 to 50.0 at laz_synapse.lpk
<Version Major="50" Minor="0"/>

  • ... or at least: 40.3 if none of the function call syntaxes have been changed.
  • Personally I like versioning: 2022.04 better. Easier to identify the date, not necessary to dig into the files + search + compare. (What I just did in the last 2 hours.)

2.) The Online package manager of Lazarus is downloading only 40.1 of 2019.

  • Should get the possibility to download the new 50.0 (or 2022.04) too.

3.) I'd also recommend to put it on the main page of your site for easier download.

4.) I've realized yesterday that the "built-in"=standard https component (fphttpclient.pp) of Lazarus is using basically an openssl.pas of Ararat Synapse, last changed in 2010-08-24,
making each SSL http communication based on SSL 1.0.

  • Which is deprecated = not safe.
  • Can you please somehow update that too?

5.) Please also put this link to your main site, to find it easier as "Lazarus tutorial + examples":
https://wiki.freepascal.org/Synapse

IMHO You are doing a very great job, helping thousands of developers with this code, keeping pascal alive, but nobody can benefit from all these things, if everything is so "hidden" and not updated.

Thanks :-)

    That's great!
    Can you please:
    - change the version to 2022.04 <version major="2022" minor="04">
    - and publish your work?</version>
