Well the good news is that the system appears to work with those installed (I didn't have the updated ACPI stuff installed on that machine) Logs are attached: note that the area is still not being created at the requested address, although testgart still runs and appears to be happy. The bad news is we now need to figure out what you are doing differently to the build machine. Did you make any source changes, or just recompiled the same sources as are in CVS? The entire system is recompiled from scratch for every development build, so if you're using the same sources as the development build it must be something in the environments that are different. What CFLAGS etc. did you use? Did you use Builder to build the agp_via driver? Is it possible there are additional patches that are missing from CVS I.e. header changes? -- Vanders http://www.syllable.org |

That's working fine. The only issue I see is the slightly messy kernel output at start: at a guess you're using multiple printk()'s. Yeah, I also saw the messed kernel log but first i tried to get this to a working state and now i'm going to fix that output as well :) About the sources.. I can send them today, of course. But i don't know if it's okey to include in the next development build because it's not really tested. Or let's say it's only a development build so it can be unstable? :) |

Since you ask so polite I have added that. :) When ImageViewer starts it always tries to fit the image to the current size of the window. And yes, it did start with a very small window. I have changed it so that it now remembers the last window position & size. I also fixed a bug when deleting images that I just discovered. Just download it again from the same location (hm, perhaps I should add version information as well). > Apart from that, I really like it. Thanks! /Jonas |

Hello, I have finished my imageviewer. You can download code and binary from www.jarvoll.se/syllable/files/ImageViewer.zip. The zip file is rather big because it contains three test images for those you want to try it. Manual is included in the zip file but here is a copy: ImageViewer ======================================== ImageViewer is a fast and slim image viewer for Syllable. It includes several features to support image viewing such as rotating, fullscreen and slideshow. When ImageViewer is first started it registers itself as a viewer for all supported image formats so that you can click on images in the filebrowser to automatically launch ImageViewer. Note that if you already have installed an imageviewer such as AView this will not work. You can start ImageViewer from prompt by typing "ImageViewer [filename]" and press enter. You can also provide wildcards in the filename, e.g. "ImageViewer *.jpg" to view all JPEG-images in the current directory. You quit the viewer either by closing the window or pressing Esc. Icons ----------------------------------------- When ImageViewer is started you have the image in the center of the window and at the bottom an iconbar. Horizontal and vertical scrollbars will be added automatically if the image is too big for the window. The window title shows the name of the current image. The following icons are available (from left to right and shortcuts between the brackets) Previous Image (left arrow or page up): View the previous image. If you are already looking at the first image, previous image will show the last image. Next image (right arrow, space or page down): View the next image. If you are at the last image, next image will show the first image. Rotate CCW (q): Rotate the current image 90 degress counterclockwise. Rotate CW (w): Rotate the current image 90 degress clockwise. Zoom in (+): Zoom in the image (make the image bigger). Zoom out (-): Zoom out the image (make the image smaller). 1:1 : Show the image in natural size (ie. one pixel in the image is equal to one pixel on screen) Fit to window: Make the image always fit the window even if the window is resized. Zoom slider: Slider to change the zoom scale. Fullscreen (Backspace): Toggles between fullscreen and windowed view. Note that when in fullscreen the iconbar is automatically removed. To view it move the mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen. Play (p): Start the slideshow Stop (o): Stop the slideshow Slideshow slider: Set the time between images, 1-10 seconds. Default is 5 seconds. Delete (del): Deletes the current image. Mouse ----------------------------------------- There are some tricks you can do with the mouse if the mouse cursor is on the image: - Use the wheelbutton to zoom in or out in the image. - Press left mousebutton and keep it pressed to move (pan) the image (only works if scrollbars are visible). Bugs ----------------------------------------- Probably, send a report to me when you find them! Enjoy! Copyright 2008 Jonas Jarvoll Released under GPL Regards Jonas |

Funny thing is that it took about 10 reboots, with the swapping, to get it to work. Now I gotta retry agp. Syllable has always pulled these kinds of stunts on me. They always happen after upgrading or installing a new version. Some things, in the GUI or anywhere else, will work weird and then disappear after some reboots. Earth radiation and atom decay must be involved. I'm glad it's confirmed, because I never dared make bug reports out of it for fear of image damage. :-) Kaj dem...@ne... schreef: > Wow, go figure. Wow, go figure.? I switched the busmanager, hcd's, and the hid driver incrementially until it worked, then I copied the originals (which I presaved) back so that things where the way they originally were supposed to be.? Then the mouse worked with a cold boot.? Then I tried it again with a warm reboot & it still worked.? The mouse was kinda jerky, but after a while it settled down.? Weird. Don't worry, I checked the crazy user mistakes first.? They all checked out.? Also, my mouse base has a light that turns on when it's initialized by the USB bus.? When the computer boots & the bios does it's USB setup, the light turns on; but during the part of Syllable's boot that initializes USB devices, the light turns off.? I'll try replacing the USB drivers shortly. Dee Sharpe -----Original Message----- From: Kristian Van Der Vliet <va...@li...> To: syl...@li... Its dependency on Glib discounts entirely from inclusion in Syllable. I'm also a bit attached to libpop3 & libsmtp. Looking at the example code for SMTP & POP3 the API & functionality is very close to libpop3 & libsmtp anyway, so other than a few features they currently do not support (SSL support, mostly) Whisper wouldn't gain anything. I'll also point out that IMAP support is perfectly possible with Whisper: it just requires a suitable plugin to provide an IMAP mailbox. It's just that no-one has written one yet. As a stop-gap, it would seem feasible to write one on top of libsylph until we have an implementation that doesn't depend on Glib, or find some way to negate the dependency. > Like i said on the forum i've ported avfs which gives us support for > most of the formats , through command line wrappers.
