Regarding the screenies I've seen, what I've found very useful is a font selector which allows an arbitrary phrase or word to be displayed in the selected font. This helps for designing, because it allows one to see exactly what the string they give it will look like in that font. Especially since some fonts (a lot by SF, such as DecoTech, Galactic, and so on) are missing puncuation, or replace common symbols such as $ or % with their own, entirely unrelated, logos of some sort.
