Yes.  I've used various WingDings arrows and symbols, especially for use in
lists.  One of their great attributes was their scalability; I could embed them
in a list and increase the font size slightly, and they'd increase in size
without looking terrible.

That said, I think that a modern OS could do without WingDings.
