Ok, so I think I have the kernel portion of my force_vesa changes done. I was trying to determine where the sources to init are, but alas I could not find them. So as usual I'm appealing to the list =) Anyone know where it's locaed in the CVS tree? Is it just me or does anyone else have problems locating new things in there? Well most of the time anyways =D It's looking like this is the chain of events that I'm implementing: * kernel receives the "force_vesa=true" from the GRUB command line * kernel passes a "force_vesa" argument to init * init then passes a similar argument to the appserver Once I have this working I maybe change it so that we can force the appserver to only try a specific driver; if this fails then it could once again fall back to VESA. Being able to pick which driver could help us vid driver authors, and being able to force VESA should help users as well. Cheers, James __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
