#3 Expire Highlight of Enclosed Text

It is possible to highlight either just the
parentheses themselves or the parentheses and the text
they enclose. It is also possible to have the
highlight expire and disappear after a certain amount
of time passes. A useful extension to these features
would be to allow expiration of the highlight on the
enclosed text but to keep the highlight on the
parentheses themselves.
