It seems to have disappeared from the latest verison. Can you add it back, please? Also, can you include in it, or in the title bar, the version number, so I can tell which version I am running?
thanks!
Yosh

Sorry, no. I want to keep the UI as simple and uncluttered as possible. In addition, I've found lots of bugs (often outright crashes) in many of the older versions, so I would actually rather people don't keep using them. If you notice any functionality or performance in the older versions that are now missing or broken in the latest version, you shouldn't use an older version. Instead, you should make me aware of it so I can attempt to fix it. That way others will benefit from it too.

I'd like to re-raise this request. I agree with you that we should always be running the latest version. but how can I know if any given version I have is the latest version if it won't tell me what version it is?
Suggestions:
An easy fix: you already display build date in the Help | Bugs? Features? dialog. You could add the version number right there, too
Replace that dialog with an About dialog that has the version & build date info and the links to the support forum, etc.
As suggested above - add version number in the title bar

I'm confused, how does this not give you that information?

I am raising the request that we want to have version number either on title bar or as about modal message box somewhere. The file even doesn't have version metadata in Swiftsearch file properties. I am really using it without knowing which version i am running, as i have multiple copies downloaded from different time scales.

I agree with Yosh, that an "About" box is needed (or an indication at title bar), so the user can beassured that he's running the latest version.
Yes, please add the version to the title bar.

The build date should already function well as a version number? Try the first item in the Help menu.
