The General Change Texture plugin changes one texture to another by traversing all furniture, furnature materials, wall sides, room ceilings, room floors, and room baseboards. The plugin can find and change catalog and non-catalog textures (non-catalog textures are most likely furniture default materials).

The plugin is useful in those situations where you want to trial different finishes for a large number of items. For example: choosing the right stain for refinishing all timber features; selecting a common stone for all benchtops; or choosing which wallpaper to use to several rooms. The plugin is also useful for determining and tidying up which textures are in use.

Undo/redo is supported, but being relatively new code, it is recommended that you make a backup copy of your home before using the plugin.

This plugin obsoletes the Change Texture Plugin which can only handle funiture.

Assuming the plugin has been installed in the correct plugins folder, after sweethome3d is restarted you should find "Change Textures" on the Tools menu.

Then it probably isn't in the right folder. You need to locate the plugins folder and put it there. On linux this would be in you home folder in sub folder eteks/sweethome3d/plugins/.

Suggest you read up on installing plugins at http://www.sweethome3d.com/plugins.jsp . If you're still having problems, I suggest posting in http://www.sweethome3d.com/support/forum/listthreads?forum=1

I've attached a new version of the GeneralChangeTexturePlugin with a ApplicationPlugin_fr.properties and changed the code to lookup the name of the menu in the properties file.

I've created a SH3D-GeneralChangeTexturePlugin repository at github to better document and track the source code.

I used google to produce some translations, so the French might be mangled. Feel free to review and suggest amendments to the ApplicationPlugin_fr.properties (github.com) file.

As well as here at sourceforge, I'll also tag and release at github, the current release is now v1.1 outils (github.com)
