The "Join walls" is a really handy feature.

Now a feature to "Detach walls" is needed.

At present when we modify a wall, it drags along with it another wall, as shown here http://prntscr.com/gp1uhk and here http://prntscr.com/gp1w7t

A "Detach walls" will allow users to extend or shift an existing wall with ease wihtout having to split or delete it first and then redraw. Would like to know if such a feature or a work around already exists.

Thanks. The software is simply great and very easy to use. Keep up the good work, friends!

I guess you would like that a Detach wall feature would detach only one end, which implies that there should be two menu items, Detach wall end and Detach wall start. If only a Detach wall menu item exists, it would be required to add a new selection mode that would allow users to select the start or the end of a wall. I'm not sure it's worth introducing this new selection mode just to detach a wall.
The workaround for this feature isn't so difficult: cut and paste the wall you want to detach, then select with the Shift key pressed the wall you want to keep it attached to and... join them again.

Thanks Emmanuel for the reply. Sure selection will have to be there in order to know which walls to be detached. It works the same way in Join walls also. Yes, cutting and pasting is what I have been doing in absence of Detach walls. Sometime I also use Split wall. But I was wondering if adding a Detach walls feature was feasible as it would minimize the work. Thanks in any case. Take care.

I have been reading through feature requests for this very thing. Instead of needing two menu items, couldn't you have a feature where you select a joint and click "detach"? Then, it wouldn't matter if it was wall start or end, just that joint.

    Just my thoughts.

To add, just want to say thank you for SH3D. It has allowed me to get my creative side out. I use it only for personal use - house plan ideas - but I probably use it for 3-4 hours every week.
