Problem
Stairs cut through parts of the floor you don't want them too
Solution
This solution will not work for every situation but i suspect will work for a lot of people
When you create a room there should be an option to hide stairs. This will just prevent the stairds cutting through the room. People don't tend to have stairs coming up in their room but to a landing. If there was an issue then the room could be re-drawn to go around the stairs.
See the images of my attached example:
- 2 floors
- stairs from the hallway (ground floor) to the landing (1st floor)
- the are completely separate from the 'electronics lab' room because they live in the hallway and landing
- The 'Electronics Lab' room crosses over the stairs and because of this the stairs are visible in that room.
- The square box I made is a wall I used to make the box that covers the stairs in the room. But does block quite nicely
- If the room option had a setting that hid the stairs then this would fix the display issue of the stairs ripping through to my room.
Workarounds / Other solutions
These are included for reference so people know I have done my research :)
- You can export the stairs model and re-import it not as as a stairs object and then make your holes in the floors manually
- Edit the SH3F model's cut-out in the object
- modify the stairs properties in the home.xml
- create level on the same elevation and add another floor (not tried this one)
