I'm working on this framing library for sweet home 3d. It includes most of the standard Dimensional Lumber used for framing homes. Also I have 4x8 sheets of plywood and OSB. Studs are 92 and 5/8 inch and also full 8 footers. All framing lumber should have the correct elevation for the application most commonly used. For example a wall stud will have a default elevation of 1 1/2" to place it on top of the sole plate. Feedback welcome, Thanks.
EDIT: I have updated the library with a dimensional correction to the framed wall section and added a wall section that has decking (OSB) installed on it.
EDIT: Now added foundation pier

Very nice work.
Sweet! One question how do I use this lumber to create a deck, looking down from the top?
Yes, I'm a newbie. :) First use of the program. Thanks!
Drag the correct pieces for your plan onto the 2D space. Most of the pieces
have the correct elevation, but you might need to double click the piece
and change that. start with the sub frame of the deck first. Then use the
2x6's that are turned flat for the decking. Once complete you will know how
much lumber to buy.

Thanks much ... nice work
OK, I downloaded the file, imported it into the Sweet Home 3D's furniture, but all I see is a 8 foot 2x4... how do I see all the rest of the dimensional lumber?
Thanks
You probably didn't install the furniture library properly. Be sure to import the .sh3f file contained in the zip file with the menu item Furniture > Import furniture library.
Worked as you described. Thanks a lot.

Is there a way to design a log home with sweet home?
I'm sure we could design logs, simple cylinders with a wood grain texture.

I have created a German translation for this furniture library.
You need to unpack the sh3f file. Then copy the attached file into the folder of the unpacked sh3f file. Next pack the folder again as an zip archive and rename the extension from zip to sh3f.
