No

I made this for those who need to make emergency plans (like me).
I've add my symbols to and with inspiration of electrical.sh3f.
If somebody need I could make more, according to the laws from their country.
The licence is completely free while I use your program and LibreOffice.

Maybe it would be useful to expand on the idea for those of us who need to do electrical charts. I took your concept and added a light source as well as a symbol which will be visible in the 3D pane (but not when rendering). Useful for me as a construction tool. ok

    Attributes for the lamp:

    id#9=okh#lamp_symbol_only
    name#9=Lamp symbol only
    information#9=Lamp symbol with light source
    category#9=Lights
    icon#9=/Lamp symbol only.png
    planIcon#9=/lamp_2d.png
    model#9=/Lamp symbol only/lamp_symbol_only.obj
    multiPartModel#9=true
    width#9=20
    depth#9=20
    height#9=10
    resizable#9=true
    deformable#9=false
    texturable#9=false
    lightSourceX#9=10
    lightSourceY#9=10
    lightSourceZ#9=0
    lightSourceColor#9=#FFFFCC
    lightSourceDiameter#9=4
    movable#9=true
    doorOrWindow#9=false
    elevation#9=240
    creator#9=okh

New version. I've added some new symbols and I've remove the electrical.
At this time the electrical diagram could be made bather with DIA.
This library are intended to be used only in 2D but could be modified according to users needs.

Work plan and the implementation. Prettty steep learning curve. But new 5.0 features have been super useful. Many layers (one for electrician, one for plumber, one for builders - and one for us placing furniture. In addition, polylines to show where to draw wires. Image is the electrical detail, and in practice the electricians were primarily interested in where to put, downlighs, ceiling lamps, wall sockets, communication (TV/fiber), switches. Green is coax, pink is broadband/phone, red electric. Frequent interaction important though, easy to forget the odd switch. Note that for the electrical work plan, lightsources with symbols (above) were used (not the actual lamps used in our own furniture layout). ok

New version 1.5.3. I've add some electrical symbols.
I use a modified script to generate the library thanks to alberich.
The BASH script is inside of library.

Hi Dorin, I need urgently your help, not that advanced that i could add symbols to this library, but need to add Switzerland specific fire protection symbols to my plan and would really appreciate if you could add these publicly available symbols from the swiss fire protection website:
    http://brandschutznachweis.ch/de/vorlagen-arbeitshilfen/symbole-fuer-brandschutzplaene

now it's all in german but google should automatically translate for you in english.
Specifically, the symbols come in the following file types: DWG, DXF, JPEG, WMF.
All the links within that site lead to the download of the same symbols in any format.

I've tried to add them myself, opened your library with the library editor and thought there would be this BASH script that easily allows me to import these symbols, but it wouldn't import any of these formats.
If you could help me on how to import i could obviously to it myself and then upload here for anyone else to be used.

Thank you very much for any help you can provide me on this.

Based on German @albrechtl I build a library for Argentinian electric symbols (IRAM 2010, based on IEC 117-1, Kind of current, distribution systems, methods of connection and circuit elements and DIN 40710/40712). Very similar to all the others. Sources and last version.

    screenshot

Attached is the first version, to get the last one:

    git clone https://github.com/pabloab/Symbols-electrical-ar.git
    cd Symbols-electrical-ar
    ./Create2DSymbols.sh
    cp ../Symbols-electrical-ar.sh3f ~/.eteks/sweethome3d/furniture/

That it's the correct place. I'm glad you continue this project and add your contribution.
I've test it and worked as expected.
    Thanks!
P.S. What if you try to add also a script for translations?
Could be useful even for me!
    Thanks again!

Pablo, it would be nice if you posted also a screenshot or an image of the library symbols. You can show only your symbols in the catalog by searching "pabloab".

    Thanks! 😃

@dorin47 Would be awesome, but I'm unsure how to do it. Please fell free to file an issue or send a PR to my repo.

@puybaret Screenshot added, and instructions to get last version from GitHub.

I don't know which catalog do you mean. I searched here, here and here.

BTW, it seems there is a bug on SH3D, I can't use diacritics (áéíóúñ on Spanish, I had to search with ls -1 | grep -i "[áéíóúñ]").

Hi all! But how can i display the symbols in my floor plan, if my preference is set to
***furniture icons in plan: TOP VIEW (which i need - see attachments)

Hi Lisa, on my side it works on both cases.
So, what SH3D version and operating system?
    Share an problematic file sample.
