Hello,

I just finished the model of my new home and since I live quite far away from the rest of my familly, I sent an email to everyone saying that they could already visit the home virtually until they come to visit us. I gave a bunch of instruction to install SweetHome3D as well as the basic steps to use it.

I even argued that this is a free software and thus worth of trust. But now, I get angry messages saying that the installer changed the default webpage in internet explorer and installed some pesky software that are difficult to get ride of. And I feel ridiculus myself and angry for all free softwares. This reminds me of the horrific stories of sourceforge installing malware along with free software.

So please, offer a way to download the windows installer that does not rely on sourceforge!

Thanks for this great software,
Mt

I'm very very astonished by your report. Sweet Home 3D Windows installer used to include OpenCandy offer system during a while but I completely stopped it a year ago (see OpenCandy offers removed from Windows installer section in this blog article), and didn't accept SourceForge.net similar system meanwhile.
So either the people who wrote you installed something else or they installed Sweet Home 3D from a place where they bundle it with some other software, but I can't control this.

    Greetings,

I confirm Sweet Home 3D has been a DevShare partner for few months back in 2014. As such at that time - and only at that time - it was presenting secondary offers during the installation.

Also, since May 27th third-party bundling of mirrored content was discontinued, and we're currently working with our Community Panel to finalize our new Mirror policy strategy.

The only programs that do present offer are the ones who are DevShare partners, and for all them the direct download link allow to download the original version without the installer.

    Regards,

    Roberto Galoppini, SourceForge team
