It sure would be nice to have the .mpg files
(and other files if possible) named after the
title of the show or at least something close
when possible.

This way when browsing the files directly from
the OS (w2k,linux, etc) it would be easier to
find the video.

(If this is not possible or too much trouble
how about a meta file with the filename to
show name mappings?)

David

(Also it would be nice to import entire directories
of videos or have the top level .rgd file update
itself based on the videos in the 'Video' directory)

    Hi,

    Thanks for the feedback.

This may be something we'll move to soon as we're
contemplating a change to how we store show information.
In the interim I'll try and add back the status bar info
for a show you click on to list the mpeg - although of
course you could just play it from SwapDV directly then
    too.

Reconstructing a guide from sub-contents would be a good
    tool... Any takers?

This could be done with sym links to the files as they are
at the moment - in a similar way to they are done on iPhoto
on the Mac. All the files could be kept in one directory and
sym linked from another directory, and have a heirarchy of
directories for the category and title, and have the Episode
Title be the name of the symlink itself.

Looks sort of like it is that way from the left hand panel
of v7, but the files are actually stored differently.

    Max.
