Are you using discriminator output from the receiver, or do you use the normal (squelched) audio output? The action of the squelch of the receiver could cause a large peak in the audio when it is badly designed. If so, try to make a discriminator output connection, it is better for a lot of other reasons as well. (you need to change the deemphasis setting in that case) Rob |
