I'll definitely try it, if for no other reason than to verify my audio
works, but long-term I'll have to figure out what the issue is.  It may
still be a router issue, so one thing I plan on trying is to set up my
system on the DMZ of my network.

Actually, another possibility if the proxy works would be to set up my
own proxy on a VPS that I know will be up all the time and controlled by me.
I'd still like to avoid that if possible since that's yet another layer
of complexity I'd rather not introduce if possible.
