Unfortunately, you are out of luck if you cannot reconfigure the interface to 
pull one of the input pins (RI, CTS, DSR, DCD) when the squelch opens. 
External DTMF decoder is only supported with the S54S interface so if you want 
that you need to build one of those.

It would be possible to implement support for the interface in SvxLink but you 
need to convince someone to do it if you cannot do it yourself.
