The -c switch seem to enable runnin= g=20 the package installation/removal scripts. This is not the same thing as the= =20 scrips that are being installed by the package. The installation scripts in= =20 the RPM for example add a new user called "svxlink" when the package is=20 installed. And also, it would be strange if "alien" classified these files as scripts= =20 since they're not executable and contain no "#!". They're pure INI-style=20 config files. Still a bug to me until proven otherwise ;-) Maybe there's another switch? These are the scripts that the original svxlink-server RPM contain: preinstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh): if ! egrep -q "^svxlink" /etc/passwd; then /usr/sbin/useradd -r -n -g daemon -s /sbin/nologin -d / -c "SvxLink Daemo= n"=20 svxlink fi postinstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh): /sbin/chkconfig --add svxlink preuninstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh): if [ $1 =3D 0 ]; then /sbin/service svxlink stop >/dev/null 2>&1 || : /sbin/chkconfig --del svxlink fi postuninstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh): if [ $1 =3D 0 ]; then /usr/sbin/userdel svxlink fi 73 de SM0SVX / Tobias > try alien again with the -c option and see if that solves it. > > hth > > chris w - g7nbp > > > > __________________________________________________________ > Sent from Yahoo!
