Hi all, to get us back on track - we still have a release to do. What is currently outstanding: 1) A new bug report about music/sfx not working with windows (I'll look into that) 2) Is there still an issue with a fixed number of tracks/karts? I think one limit was removed, not sure - coz? 3) Model improvement: - we have (I think) 2 new models, Cherryprice's model from wings3d, which we currently can't import for unknown reasons - I'd suggest we ignore it and don't delay a release for that. - several track improvements Even if they are not complete (*blush* I still have to play them ... sorry, am busy atm), anything that's an improvement should go in :) 4) outstanding bugs - One of the fall-through-track bugs is basically fixed in bullet, I am just waiting for an official release (though I can add an alpha release Erwin did for me otherwise) - the gcc optimisation related bug can only be documented, till we get someone who can help us narrowing the file down - weird rotations of AI kart wheels - we can do another release with that. - AI gets stuck - I think that's work in progress (driveline tweaking)? 5) shortcuts: we leave it the way it is now: only when skipping driveline points - perhaps we could add a barrier made of tires for the race track? And similar fixes? Otherwise I wouldn't delay a release because of these minor shortcuts. 6) Hexley kart: we need better parameters so that it doesn't topple over all the time :) 7) physics parameters We add these in for the next release, since at the same time we can start using skidding, and perhaps making the road cone etc. heavier, so that they act as a more effective barrier for lighter/faster karts. All of this would need some significant play testing time - which I think would be good for a minor release (0.4.1). 6) Translation (other thread I just started): can wait for another (minor) release - I'd target 0.4.1 here as well.
