After Grumbel helped me get Flexlay working (thanks) I was able to create some new Tube tiles for Tux to run through. They're posted at the top of my sandbox page with a thumbnail link showing a screen shot in of them in play. Also posted is a Tube_Tile.stgt file which includes definitions for the tileset for use with Flexlay. (this file goes into "tilesets/supertux.stgt") I don't have write access so if someone wants to get this into CVS please feel free. http://gluebox.com/creatures/BlueRockz/index.html Comments and criticisms are welcome. |

wow! nice! they look a little like the old supertux, nothing like Mario, and a little like the space station level in superfrog! (but they're more crystalline than all of those.) overall, nice work. Anyway, if Tux is meant to run through the tubes, you should make some "windows", so the player can avoid enemies inside the tube, watch Tux jump, etc. I suggest making a round window (with ribets or screws at the border of it), 2x2 size. - -- - ---------------------------------- Iván Sánchez Ortega <iva...@es...> <iv...@ac...> El hombre aislado se siente débil, y lo es.- Concepción Arenal. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFCFi3gR56dWuhgxGgRAsusAJ0Q6sTWK/9rLbVYKC6fY2KidqJHsgCfaO4U QWwv8M7G7zSRFQEr9zidmIs= =GR9M -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Thanks for the nice words Ivan. I initially laid out the round windows with bolts just as you described. It just took a lot of work defining the tiles in flexlay, so I posted the basic concept to gage feedback. (I'm new here so there was a small learning curve, things should go faster now) I'll be away somewhere warm for a few days, upon return I'll post the windows. I did these tiles for the fun of it, they are not in the specs. My goal for the next month is stay on topic and post out some graphics that have been listed in the wiki as needed. go Tux. > Anyway, if Tux is meant to run through the tubes, you should make some > "windows", so the player can avoid enemies inside the tube, watch Tux > jump, > etc. I suggest making a round window (with ribets or screws at the bord= er > of > it), 2x2 size. > > - -- > - ---------------------------------- > Iv=E1n S=E1nchez Ortega <iva...@es...> > <iv...@ac...> > > El hombre aislado se siente d=E9bil, y lo es.- Concepci=F3n Arenal. > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) > > iD8DBQFCFi3gR56dWuhgxGgRAsusAJ0Q6sTWK/9rLbVYKC6fY2KidqJHsgCfaO4U > QWwv8M7G7zSRFQEr9zidmIs=3D > =3DGR9M > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- vel > |

Hello Developers, > My goal > for the next month is stay on topic and post out some graphics that have > been listed in the wiki as needed. I'm new here, so could you tell me where I can find the wiki? I found a Bug: When I turn off the Software-Renderer the water becomes semi-transparent, so I can see the stones under the water, with OpenGL the water isn't transparent. Which of those behaviors is the bugy one? I can produce any frames of a golden rotating coin, how can I show it to the developers? Alexander |

I think the software renderer is the correct one, and the opengl one is buggy. it is more logical that way. right? Obviously. Alexander, using an ATI video card with their Linux crappy drivers? Try using Debian sarge, i found it to be more stable then the stable version (especially the kernel). I have the same card you have and got it working fine. Just grab the Debian Sarge Netinst CD, i used rc2, but any version should work great, make sure you have a good internet connection though. Hello noah, > nice! Thanks :-) > it might be better if it had some sort of symbol on it, a penguin, or a fish. something like that. I chose a fish: http://brockal.br.funpic.de/supertux/coin/fish/images.php Because the fish is what tux eats. Of course it is possible to place a penguin on the coin. And I made a new pipe: http://brockal.br.funpic.de/supertux/pipe/images.php Alexander |

thats nice... I swear I saw that fish somewhere before though... also, I might "fit in" a little better if you blurred the edges a little. just a thought. overall though its very nice. not with me ;-) but if I remember correctly, there was one in the 0.5 version of supertux, and a nice simple fish in the last cvs version I tried. Hello noah, > I think I like the mud, good for the forest level. Thanks, I'm now going to make something like the "Big Robot" for the industrial world.
