[Super-tux-devel] herring_song copyright

    Hi,

    The song "loser.xm" was downloaded from http://www.modarchive.com as I 
announced during the IRC meeting. This site let ppl download songs freely. 
However, few of them are copyrighted by the artists who created them. 
Concerning "loser.xm", I couldn't find any copyright or author's informations 
about it. I think that we can use it without problems in SuperTux.

   I'm sorry but I'm not a music composer :D You Bill, should grab some real 
artists for us ;)

Hmm, could you point us to the location of this file. I have problems to
find it. :(
When this song has no copyright, shouldn't it be public domain then?

"Public Domain" is odd.  I think that things are only PD if the person
PUT them into the PD.

You are correct.  It would require giving permission intentionally or
copyright protection to expire.  I think that's now set as life + 75
years or something insane though.

Back to my post yesterday...I think the song was part of Tux Racer
originally.  If that's the case then it's most likely under the GPL.
