Hi, there is no reason to copy the Kernel development concept. The SuperTux concept worked well and will continue to work well, just because we jump from 0.2.x to 1.0.x or 0.9(beta) it doesn't mean that the achievements will be less or the time to fullfill the aims will be shorter. Every release will continue to have high requirements in new feature. Greetz...
