Controls don't seem really smooth." "OK, the art is quite good, the controls are a little mushy but liveable." It could mean pretty much anything, could be the short-jump for example, the non 'roundness' of the tiles compared with SuperMario3 or stuff like that. Might also be that controlls get harder on very low end machines or whatever.
