Hello my Name is Florian Vossen, I am a Student from Germany and currently studying Nautical studies in Bremen. I order to finish my studies I have to write a Diploma thesis (similar to a Master thesis). My topic is already chosen and it will be about the disembarkation and embarkation of a Passenger ship in normal conditions. That means when the Passenger ship is not able to go to a jettie or pier into the harbor. Here all Passengers have to disembark by several small tender boats. About that will be my topic to see how I could improve the tender operation to safe time and fuel. Here is my question to you if there is the opportunity to help me out with a simulation program or any other further information. I would like to simulate the embarkation and disembarkation process of the passengers and the movements of the tender boats between the big ship and the land station. I already have chosen a ship where we have about 2200 passengers and where I have 4 tender boats to work with. Each boat has a capacity of 80-85 passengers to sit comfortable. I was already on that ship to get all data, figures and times of the whole tender operation. So I have all figures of the time to embark and disembark one ship or how long it takes one person which is not able to walk very well. Now I only need a suitable simulation program, which can simulate simultaneously the loading and unloading of the boats (ship side and land side) and at the same the optimal movements of all 4 tender boats. In detail I would like to simulate how about 80 people's get into a vehicle and than moves a variable distance to disembark and load again at the same place and than move back to the first place. I have 4 vehicles to simulate simultaneously. It doesn't have to be a ship it could be a bus or truck. The point I need is to give or set the loading and disembarking time (or each person going into the vehicle) a time frame and the distance and speed to go has to be set to. I would be great if we could find a way how to cooperate so I could use one of you simulation programs.
