Hello Bernhard, > Thank you so much for this extensive description. You are welcome. > Do you believe I may have any advantage if I make it with Compiz? As a blind user I don't think you need Compiz. If there are any blind users on this list who think otherwise, please let us know. > Another question: In our first seminar we learned a key combination to kill the X Server and immediately start a new one. I thought it would be alt-control-backspace, but this doesn't have any effect. What is it really? Alt+Ctrl+Backspace is the right key combination. But the X11 developers turned it off. You can turn it back on if you need: Go to the menu item System/Preferences/Keyboard (german: System/Einstellungen/Tastatur) in the dialog look for the page tab with the name "Layouts" (german: "Belegungen") activate the button "Options..." (german: "Optionen...") choose "Key sequence to kill the X server" (german: "Tastenkombination zum erzwungenen Beenden des X-Servers") and reactivate the key combination Instead of killing the X server you can try to shut down your machine. The key combination Alt+Ctrl+Del opens the Shut Down dialog.
