Please give the steps to edit the length of a subtitle file-- just a trim on the end - based on a time stamp or frame .
Some mkv software like mkvcutter will not recognize a subtitle file at all even it works on audio and video.
The resultant trimmed subtitle file would them be muxed into the video via MKV toolnix.

Tools -> split subtitle -> tab simple -> "given frame" or "given time". Please read the manual for full features of subtitle workshop.
