Zanimljiva rasprava, naišao sam na nešto slično pa da podijelim iskustvo. Casino Arena mi je u zadnje vrijeme ostavio ok dojam – jednostavan za korištenje, solidan izbor igara i sve radi prilično glatko i na mobitelu. Nije ništa “prenapuhano”, nego baš onako za opuštenu zabavu kad imaš malo slobodnog vremena. Možda nije za svakoga, ali meni je bio skroz korektan izbor u toj kategoriji.

I'm not sure this is a bug, but maybe... If have a basic srt without time it load just the first line. in the very old version is like 2.51, 6.0e loaded multiples lines. I mean the "without time" are 00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:00,000 in all lines. If i open that kind of srt it just load the first line. I have hint. I don't know if I'm the only one who finds the video scrolling feature, which works by simply hovering the mouse over the timeline, irritating. This feature, added in version 6, is the reason why I still use version 2.51. Why does it bother me? After your response, I took a closer look at what I was doing and I see that my initial report was slightly inaccurate...but still stands as such: The behavior occurs ONLY when the selected line is one that will be COMPLETELY REMOVED after Fix Errors is run. When that line is removed, you lose focus, so your next move (after clicking on OK in the Info &Errors box) is to select another line, which brings up the Exception. In the attached sub, this will apply to Lines 004, 036~046, etc. or any other...

I just tried various scenarios with "Errors and settings" but I wasn't able to replicate the error. Please provide subtitle file and the line that gives problems. Does "Errors and settings" use stock settings? If not, please provide which settings that are altered that gives problem. At this moment, I can't work further without more details.

I can only guess. I think it's simply a bug which the original programmer hasn't noticed before and you have discovered it. I don't think it is expected behavior but rather a unfortunate annoying bug. I'll try to fix it when I have time. If you could share a simple example (e.g. srt file or other) it could be helpful. And which line or text which causes the problem. And which part of "Information & Errors" causes the problem.

Tested it and it does it the other way around, which is wrong, unfortunately. There are now no HTML breaks <br>, and thus the file is now broken completely. It would be best to revert that change... unless we are actually close and it just needs to do it the other way around, i.e. adding HTML breaks onto empty lines between texts, where now only line breaks are.

It's very unlikely that your PC is capable of 4K. I think that what is happening is that it is displayed at a much lower resolution instead, i.e. it is 4K inside the file, but not on your screen. Maybe there is some downscaling during playback when it does play it correctly. What monitor do you use? Resolution? 1440p at least? It is possible that Subtitle Workshop Classic isn't downscaling the resolution the same way when it uses VLC to render. Opting instead to show the full resolution, which your...

I found my fathers account. Everything looks look. Don't forget to read TechnicalDoc.txt, it explains how to install the 3rd party components for Delphi Embercadero. (such as Hunspell, Treeview, pascal scripts) I think the document is key when to compile Subtitle Workshop. Those have to be installed before you compile for the first time. I just tried the test version you have provided and it didn't work. The issue persists. Upon loading the subtitles, surplus line endings were removed (maybe even more than should be - where there were three empty lines with two breaks and one standalone faulty line ending there is now only one break - it should be two, I think.) - I do not know if that was the case with the normal non-test version of SWC as well. In any case, pasting the text from the clipboard caused the issue again, as can be seen...

I investigated further. There are somethings that speed up VLC in some cases. In advanced preferences: Input/codecs -> under video codecs -> ffmpeg -> check "Hurry up", "allow speed tricks", "Hardware decoding" (I have it unchecked), Theads (4 or more if you have cores) There might be many more tricks you could try. I don't consider this a problem of subtitle workshop but a hardware problem in combination with codec or VLC settings. I recommend you contact VLC for further help.

I'll try replicating it later, as for the null pointer... The access violation is a bit of a misnomer. Nullpointer means something tried to access/modify a null value/object. A null or nil value / object / data in memory is an absence of anything. I usually explain it by comparing it to zero. Zero is a numeric value. If you try to add or subtract another number to it, it works. If you try to numerically add or subtract something to/from a null value, stuff explodes (but it depends on the programming...

Perfect, good work! Seems to be working. I tried it with "č" in both subtitle files and the video file, then I saved the project, checked the project file if it indeed got saved properly, it did, so I closed the workshop, started it up again, loaded the project, and voilá!

I don't know how to solve a Access violation (nullpointer). It is important to replicate the error and which actions exactly have lead to it. Without replication, I can't pinpoint the exact cause and I can't find a solution.

I use version 2.51 for convenience and because I'm very familiar with it. I also installed version 6.0 to do all the tests suggested by you and on the internet and they all failed with 4k video. Therefore, since neither of them worked with 4k, I prefer to use version 2.51 which I'm very familiar with. P.S: O Subtitle Edit plays 4k video perfectly on my pc.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 Ghz is too slow for 4K. I can't help that. I have tried 64 VLC with that that processor but it didn't play well 4K with HDR or without. I'm not sure why it would play well on your system. I doubt if Subtitle Edit will help much, it also uses ffmpeg, just like VLC. I also tried the default renderer with subtitle workshop, it failed at 4K and HDR (so it uses installed codecs) I don't understand why you would use 2.51 instead of 6.0.

The videofile also fails to load from the project file if it contains symbols such as "č", "ě", "ř", etc., but loads fine if loaded directly. Same for subtitle files. It's only loading the subtitle/video files from the project file that fails.

Actually, I reverted to an older version of Subtitle Workshop and it appears that the project doesn't get loaded! Then I took a look at the recent list and it seems like I simply didn't have those specific diacritical symbols in my subtitle file names before, so this is actually a completely new issue, and the problem might have been there since times in memoriam, I just didn't encounter it yet. But I do recall having a similar issue with Jagged Alliance many months back. Hmm...

My machine is just an AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 Ghz. I have installed VLC 32-bit and the 64-bit version. Playing the video directly in VLC 32-bit doesn't work: it keeps crashing, the audio and video lose synchronization, and the video appears pixelated. Directly in 64-bit it works perfectly. So that's why when I changed the renderer to "VLC" 32-bit, it didn't work in Subtitle Workshop. I don't have the financial means to build a PC like the one you mentioned, so I'll continue creating subtitles in...

The Slovak Nuclear Powerplants are now using a .NET 6 microservice in an Linux environment. The spirit of Delphi is that it independent of Microsoft. .Net in contrast is heavily dependent on microsoft and the integration of .net. I like independency very much or at least as much as possible.

Don't worry, I do realize it isn't as easy like that (I mean if it was a .NET framework application, it may have been, but even then the GUI would have to be rewritten), as it is literally my job to know that. I also encountered troubles with 64-bit and 32-bit libraries, plus the architecture (x86, aarch64, etc.) has to check out too. If there is hope, it would be that a) creating 32-bit applications is still supported and b) the GUI available in those Linux-based Delphi things has drop-in replacements...
