So I'm considering purchasing the redistributable license of FreeTextBox ($199). This would enable a few things. First, I could redistribute a compiled version of FreeTextBox pro, thus everyone who uses Subtext would have the Pro version of FTB as their blog editor (and gain the all-important XHTML editing, and MS Word cleanup). Second, I would get the source code and be allowed to recompile it.=20 So if we needed Subtext specific changes, we'd be set. Just wanted to get your thoughts on this before I moved forward.=20 Ideally, I'd prefer a redistributable of the Telerik r.a.d. control, but that's too expensive AND I don't think it uses the WebResource.axd (embedded resources) that FTB does. Another thing to consider is creating a RichTextEditorProvider ala DotNetNuke. THat way, a user who has a license to CuteEditor or Telerik, could easily swap it out. Anyone want to tackle that? You can basically rip off the DNN code. Phil |
