6.0.beta1 transcoding from FLAC to mp3 cuts out at 60% consistently. Songs show full length until added to player, then show as 60% of expected length. Problem is resolved by downgrading to 5.3

Can you please let me know which browser(s) this happens in?
Also, what setting do you have in Settings > Transcoding > mp3 audio?

It would be great if you could send me an example flac file which exhibits this problem. (My flac sample files work ok).

    Thanks

    Same thing for me.
    I use this in Transcoding for Step 1: ffmpeg -i %s -map 0:0 -ab 320k -f mp3 -
and using also the same for "Downsample command".

I'm using Chrome Version 48.0.2564.109 (64-bit) on a Mac. I'm running Subsonic in a debian:wheezy Docker container (hosted on debian jessie). Here is my transcode for flac:
    ffmpeg -i %s -map 0:0 -b:a 320k -v 0 -f mp3 -

This happens to all my flac files, but here's an example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vi6wp40tpskin61/01%20-%20%27%272112%27%27.flac?dl=0

Nice song - haven't listened to it for many years :)

If figured it out. If you change "320k" to the (default) "%bk" it works. (The reason for this is that the server estimates the content length based on the default bitrate 192k. When it's actually encoded with 320k there will be a mismatch).

In the next version I can change the default from 192k to 320k to improve audio quality.

Thanks for the thorough bug report!
    Sindre

For ppl who dont want to use mp3 to transcode Im going give here the line for use ogg with a estimated bitrate around 256kbps

    ffmpeg -i %s -map 0:0 -codec:a libvorbis -qscale:a 8 -f ogg -
