The command line option "--xs-none" should be implemented to disable silence detection and the MP3 decoding needed for this.
Background:
Today, streamripper is even used on embedded linux devices such as openWRT. Those devices have low computing power, for instance 200 or 400 MHz MIPSEL CPUs.
Using the default values for silence detection,
the problem is, that sreamripper reconnects after each song and the CPU usage rises up to 100%. It helped me to reduce the silence detection to a 2ms window (didn't found an option to disable it completly, would this save need for the mp3 decoding lib?) by the command line options as set by the following snipped:
--xs-offset=1000 --xs-silence-length=1 \
--xs-search-window=1:1 \
--xs-padding=300:300
This can be considered as a kind of workaround for a missing --xs-none command line option.

I'm afraid I created a duplicate of:

--xs-none is implemented in 1.64.1. However, streamripper still does decoding of one meta-interval so it can split at the mp3 frame boundary. I'll leave this FRE open, but change the name to reflect the desire not to do decoding at all.
