This release contains a fix for a security vulnerability that affects all previous version of StoryStream. Highly recommended that you upgraded your installed version.
As StoryStream popularity grows and more users put StoryStream into production, it is becoming more refined. This release fixes several bugs found by users and adds a few important refinements such as simple user management for the administrator.
Multiple users should not be able to use the same email address when they register. Users will get an error now if they try.
The bug fixed in this version affects users with a combination of paritcular versions of Zend Optimizer (< 2.6, I believe) and PHP > 4.4.0. Users would see a string of errors on the front page that were not true errors.
This one fixes a problem with the formatting toolbar under IE6. More importantly, this version should work with PHP5.
This version fixes a bug in the confirmation email and replaces the aging mail notification engine with the well-implemented PHPMailer script. Also, the PEAR includes were reworked to hopefully work better on most servers.
This one includes a basic installer that will help novice users get up and running a little more quickly (or at least guide them when things go wrong).
There are also a lot of superficial changes in this release. The main template has been redone to make pages load faster and for content to be found more quickly. Also, for a lot of reasons, I've removed the built-in forum (based on phpbb). There was little value in having an integrated forum and it was becoming a bear to maintain (keep up with updates, etc).... read more
Minor bug fix with link in registration confirmation email.
This beta fixes serveral bugs including the serious installation problems that have been plaguing several people.
This is not a required download for those who already have 0.2.6. It fixes a couple of problems with the previous 0.2.6 where the wrong version number is displayed at the bottom of each screen and gives more helpful error information when the smarty templates compile directory has incorrect write permissions.
This version fixes a few minor/major bugs that were found recently. No new features have been added.
This is a minor update that fixes a major problem with new member registration. Anyone who has version 0.2.2 Build 206 should get this.
This build fixes a couple of critical bugs I found. Read links weren't working when the user was not logged in and the other was that certain statistics weren't appearing on the Reading Room front page.
This latest release adds a host of new features and a new, more elegant, look. Here's a list of what's been done:

This release includes an improved way of viewing a story hierarchy (expandable tree view), a version history for stories, scenes and forks and a huge improvement in speed and database access.
This is a bugfix release that fixes a serious flaw in the new translation code. Anyone who downloaded 0.2.0.72 should replace it with this version.
StoryStream has entered its beta phase having implemented all featured originally intended to be implemented during the desigh phase. This release includes bug fixes, enhanced Group functionality and the ability to be translated to any language.
Groups: Group administrators can now specify whether or not stories that appear within a group are viewable by non-group members.
Translation: All translatable strings have been extracted from the code and placed into a single file. The file is named after the language code it translates. Currently, for example, there is one translation file called 'en.inc' which includes all english translation. Admins can set the language used in the configuration file (config.php).
The major feature in this release is support for Groups. You can now create a group, invite members to join and associate stories with that group. Members of the group are the only ones who are able to contribute to the group.
The appearance of some pages has been changes slightly as well and several bugs were fixed.
The latest release of StoryStream further streamlines the interface, fixes several bugs and adds a FAQ. Also, the beginnings of the ranking system are in place. StoryStream is close to being Beta.

A lot more details about the StoryStream project have been added to the website. Details about how it works and the mission of the project can be found there. More documentation is coming in the next few days.
In this latest release, I've integrated the popular phpBB bulletin board system into the StoryStream engine. What this does is give users the ability to discuss any story or scene that is submitted. In addition to that, the forums will hopefully be a place to discuss general topics about writing and art. I've also continued to add better statistical data to the reading pages and, as always, continue to improve the interface.
