While changing the max version will make Story Monitor work with Firefox 2 it doesn't solve the problem with Fanfiction.net's latest version. New chapters are found but because of the change in the URL (I presume) the story listing can't be updated to reflect the proper "last read" chapter.
Also, The chapter counts don't work properly for stories on FicWad and haven't for some time now.
