#3 How to regenerate .md5Checksums for modified backup?

I want to modify a large-ish backup set (about 200G of data from daily backups for about 700 days) as follows: since it's very inefficient storing multiple copies of large mboxes, I want to convert the mboxes to maildirs, so that there can be much more hard linking.

This is not a problem, but having done it, the .md5Checksums files will all be wrong. Can I somehow regenerate them so they are right again?
