We hope that we have frozen the API specification at this point. Note that this release does not contain any interface code so programmers only I'm afraid.

Check out the latest API spec for steve 1.0. These interfaces will form the API for exposing steve.museum via SOAP and php5.
A development roadmap for the steve.museum tool has been published to the "Docs" section of the project SourceForge site and on the steve project website at http://www.steve.museum/images/stories/pdf/steve%20tool%20roadmap.pdf.
The 1.0 version of the steve social tagging tool will be released September 15, 2006.
The steve package will support a web-based tagging service, allowing museums to import images and comma delimited (csv) metadata files to a viewing and tagging environment with a limited number of interface parameters set to default states. Users can register, view images from museum-defined sets, tag these images and search for images based on metadata and prior tag assignments. Tags assigned by users can be exported in a csv format for subsequent analysis and deployment in other search systems.
