This is a trial of sourceforge discussion tool capability using the topic of which source code control system to move to as an example.
To state the problem: STEPmod needs to move away from CVS and onto either subversion or Git.
Future additions should include requirements and constraints to help in the decision making process.

Was a decision ever made on this? I'd suggest git in the absense of other preferences - most of the larger open source hosting solutions these days seem to be based on git, so that would maximize flexibility...

The decision is to move to an ISO hosted git.
This sourceforge repo is no longer current.
The schemata are found on https://standards.iso.org/iso/10303/smrl/v<n>/tech/smrlv<n>.zip,
