I will explain what I did: I compressed the area again, but this time before playing the sequence I changed player options to 8x so I could see things spaced out. At the end of the newly compressed area was a freeze step, but where it was supposed to start was a tap step, and closer than a 64th note later was the begining of the freeze. I have experienced faster-than-64th notes before (96th, 1/2 of a 48th note) but this one was far shorter than 96th, I was barely able to see it under the tap step even at 8x.
