Hi Alex, It's a good idea, although we may not want to restrict the unified catalogue to the same license as the NGC/IC catalogue (which prohibits commerical use and is therefore more strict than the GPL). How about an extension containing the Messier/Caldwell/Herschel objects hopefully with GPL license like the rest of Stellarium? We could ship that and offer a download for the full NGC/IC.
