If you are using Windows, you can download a patched version from here:
http://launchpad.net/stellarium/0.10/0.10.4/+download/stellarium-r6446-win32.exe

There are two shortcuts in the Start menu - "Stellarium" and
"Stellarium (no OpenGL2)".

Try "Stellarium (no OpenGL2)" if you have text problems with "Stellarium".
