Hi Fabien Here is a more comprehensive report on your 1st RC I have not tested it since you made those changes I will do another test when I download it Here is the list of problems with a Windows build of stellarium at build 0.10.3Rc1 build 5793 release I have just run this on five computers (six sysrtems) Unless mentioned separately results apply to all computers. As Fabien noted Stellarium-rc1 crashes after about 3 minutes on my computer. The package I built is stable. I think it is something to do with the memory read mentioned below. I use the old msys method to compile and I use MinGW 5.1.6 because the Qt version does not work for me This may have something to do with loading of the sqlite driver. The logbook, hellostelmodule and text user interface modules are missing I assume this is deliberate. I build mine but set the load on start to false if they are not used. The logbook is certainly stable now There was a minor problem with a small change Tim did but it is OK again now Note all the static modules appear to compile OK Oculars module:- Does not load the module:- Sqlite driver not found I then used my Qtsql4.dll in lieu but it still did not load. This happens on some platforms with my builds (intel dual core Gigabyte board). Sqlite driver not found and has been occuring since the introduction of the sqlite database. Renders the module virtually useless. Loading of large star catalogues:- The new method of loading star catalogues takes too long, over two minutes to load catalogues up to 7 with the first load. Second load time is reduced to about 40 seconds. If I try to load catalogue 7 & 8 stellarium crashes I can still load either but not both. after three minutes. Log txt error:- Loading star data ... "Loading "./stars/default/stars_0_0v0_1.cat": 0_0v0_1; 5013" "Loading "./stars/default/stars_1_0v0_1.cat": 1_0v0_1; 21999" "Loading "./stars/default/stars_2_0v0_1.cat": 2_0v0_1; 151416" "Loading "./stars/default/stars_3_1v0_0.cat": 3_1v0_0; 434064" "Loading "J:/Documents and Settings/Barry/Application Data/Stellarium/stars/default/stars_4_1v0_0.cat": 4_1v0_0; 1725497" "Loading "J:/Documents and Settings/Barry/Application Data/Stellarium/stars/default/stars_5_2v0_0.cat": 5_2v0_0; 7669011" "Loading "J:/Documents and Settings/Barry/Application Data/Stellarium/stars/default/stars_6_2v0_0.cat": 6_2v0_0; 26615233" "Loading "J:/Documents and Settings/Barry/Application Data/Stellarium/stars/default/stars_7_2v0_0.cat": 7_2v0_0; 57826266" Found file "J:/Documents and Settings/Barry/Application Data/Stellarium/stars/default/stars_8_2v0_0.cat" , checking md5sum.. QPainter::begin: A paint device can only be painted by one painter at a time. QPainter::setRenderHint: Painter must be active to set rendering hints QPainter::setRenderHint: Painter must be active to set rendering hints QPainter::worldTransform: Painter not active QPainter::save: Painter not active This may have something to do with not being able to load both catalogues in Windows XP Acer 4315 laptop Stellarium no longer displays in Windows Vista. The program appears to load correctly but there is no dislpay inside the window. This happened with the change to Qt 4.6.0 My last working build in Vista was 5545 (Qt 4.5.0). This previous version also loads all the star catalogues. Bogdan has reportred on his results with the Aztec and Sami cultures. I have not noticed this but he is probably correct. Also the spheric mirror problem I have no use for it and never tested it because I don't know what to expect No problems with constellation boundaries but this has cropped up a time previously depending on video displays and updates. I am using the old config.ini file When I erased this I first got an out of screen memory error (my computer will not handle a larger display than 1200 x 800) . I set the fullscreen to false this allows display. I have no trouble with the plugins like Bogdan except that none are loaded by default. They load OK When the plug ins are ticked. When stellarium exits it gets a windows error message about an incorrect instruction at a memory location.
