Aha, you're old school with the replies.  I prefer bottom or interleaved 
posting, but Fabien has taught me bad habits.  :-)  Not more top-posting 
from me.  There's no one true style on this list as far as I know - it's 
been pretty relaxed on this sort of thing as long as I've been posting here.

Have a look at SearchDialog::setSimpleStyle().  This hides the RA and Dec 
controls and is called when the dialog contents are set up in 
SearchDialog::createDialogContent().  I was thrown a little by this question 
because last time I looked at the search dialog, these controls were visible 
by default.
