Steam Controller PC is a free portable tool for Windows 10 and 11 that makes a Steam Controller work outside Steam.
Without Steam running, the pad is mostly dead on Windows - the trackpads do nothing and the grips do not exist. This tool talks to the controller directly and turns every input into a real keystroke, mouse click or mouse movement, so it works in emulators, browser games, launchers and any application that never heard of Steam.
Everything can be remapped: face buttons, bumpers, triggers, the stick, both trackpads and the back grips. The right trackpad drives the mouse with adjustable sensitivity, the left one can act as a D-pad. Profiles are named and saved, one per game, and a global hotkey turns mapping off without unplugging anything.
No drivers, no virtual controller, nothing injected into the game.
One portable file, no installer, no ads. Free and open source, MIT licensed.
