Can some one point me to directions for compiling on Ubuntu 9 and greater? I didn't see anything in the manual that was an obvious install directions. I installed things that had staden in the results of this command on ubuntu: apt-cache search staden. Thanks for any help, I am completely unsure how to start the install. Didn't see a make file in the latest source I downloaded.

You need to run configure to get a Makefile. Instructions are in a file called README.build under the src directory.
