ssldump output file should maintain consistency to make it easier to write readers that make viewing the file easier. In network troubleshooting, it is common to have 100MB+ ssldump files.
Example bad output:
1395925431.1024 (0.0018) S>C
48 54 54 50 2f 31 2e 31 20 32 30 30 20 4f 4b 0d HTTP/1.1 200 OK.
0a 44 61 74 65 3a 20 54 68 75 2c 20 32 37 20 4d .Date: Thu, 27 M
The output does not maintain indentation, making the first line look like record #54 of connection #48.
1 2 1395925431.0871 (0.0000) S>CV3.2(81) Handshake
ServerHello
Version 3.2
The indentation makes it easy to see that "ServerHello" is a continuation of record #2 for connection #1.
Good example:
Observe indentation.
Bad example:
Observe the lack of indentation.
