Hello Patrizio, It can be very challenging to adapt the OpenSSI kernel patch to another kernel. It is a task that is only appropriate for one of the experienced OpenSSI developers, and it can be rather time-consuming. For that reason, the 2.4.22-1.2199.nptl kernel from Fedora Core 1 is probably the last 2.4 base for OpenSSI. In the future, the primary development focus will be the 2.6-based kernel that is part of the recent OpenSSI 1.9.0 development release. The panic with ReiserFS and CFS can be fixed in the 2.4 kernel if there is sufficient user demand for this feature (please speak up if you want it fixed), and it's not too difficult to do so. Otherwise, it can be fixed in the new 2.6 kernel. Hope this helps explain things.
