Bugs item #932596, was opened at 2004-04-09 16:33 Message generated for change (Settings changed) made by bjbrew You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=405834&aid=932596&group_id=32541 Category: Filesystem Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: John Byrne (jlbyrne) Assigned to: Vinod Vijayarajan (vvinod) Summary: fsck needs better error handling for rootdisknode Initial Comment: I updated linuxbuild1 and the system wouldn't failed to fsck the root while booting a base kernel with a message about the disk not being a valid ext2 filesystem. The issue turned out to be the rootdisknode file. The file existed, but had a blank line. (I don't know how this happened.) We need to put out useful errors if the rootdisknode file does not exist or cannot be parsed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Aneesh Kumar K.V (kvaneesh) Date: 2004-04-10 10:28 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=230991 I have commited a fix to take care if rootdisknode is not existent. But I am not sure how we check corruption. We don't have any idea regarding whether it is a valid node entry or not. Yes we can check whether it is a numeric or not. The fix for first part is already in CVS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=405834&aid=932596&group_id=32541 |
