Hi, I guess a load-leveller can work better in the user space than in the kernel space. Also configuration of the load-leveller behaviour also becomes much simpler. One can also extend the algorithm in a easy manner. More people can work on different load levelling strategies. On openssi since we have the high-availability framework and migrate facility we should be able to implement it in a easy manner. We will have a high available loadbalance daemon running on each node. This daemon takes inputs from the /proc file system and depending on the configuration migrate application running on that node to the Best node available. What do you guys think ?. Did anybody attempted it before. [ On openssi we have an added advantage that it reduces the size of nodeinfo packet. For implementing load balancing during exec we may need to let each node know about load on other nodes. This can be done by loadbalance daemon running on that node. ] -aneesh |
