So, to continue my conversation with myself (and anyone else who cares to listen in): Mounting of removable media on individual nodes works quite well, except if the mount point is a CDSL then the name of the CDSL gets stored in /etc/mtab instead of the place it's pointing to - this causes confusion on umount, the wrong entry in /etc/mtab may be deleted. umount doesn't like the fact that /dev/cdrom is a CDSL, it uses realpath (in fact it's own private version of realpath) and gets confused about what device to umount. pmount and eject don't like having devices outside /dev (they're using realpath to find out where the device is. So I think we need a ssi-realpath for these babies, here's my candidate. |
