Anybody successfully built rcsoccersim on MacOS X? I tried packages 9.3.5 and 9.3.7 under MacOS 10.3 (Panther) with gcc 3.3, without success.
Thanks

Hi,
I've been trying to build rcssbase (need for the server) on OS X, but I haven't quite managed it. If you have a look at the version of rcssbase in the CVS, you will find a PLATFORMS file that describes the problem on OS X. If you find a workaround, please let me know.
Cheers,
Tom

I'm installing MacOS X 10.3 (Panther) / Darwin 7.0 over the next weekend. I had given up with 10.2, but since a lot has changed with 10.3 regarding compilers and libs, I'll try to build the soccersim sometime next week.

Please let me know how you go, though I wouldn't hold my breath. From what I can tell the problem really boils down to poor support from Libtool, which we use to create the libraries.
The best solution I can think of at the moment is to have to option to disable some of the fancier library stuff in rcssbase. I can't give you a eta on this yet though.
Cheers,
Tom

I tried to build rcsoccersim on MacOS 10.3 today and got the same kind of errors as Justin Dubs got some time ago. After adding the prototype for isnan in rcssserver/src/netif.C, gcc then complained about multiple definitions of some symbols in anonymous namespaces. Exactly the same as Justin got.

on a google-search for "rcssserver mac osx", looks like it contains complete instructions for building rcsss on mac os x 10.3, along with a link to this thread (???).
unfortunately, it is japanese.
if anyone manages to build rcsss on os x using the information provided, it would be great if he did a translation and posts it in this thread.
