I'm facing a great difficulty in installing the Robocup Soccer 2D simulator.
I've searched a lot and have read a lot and all I came up with is that I need to install of each of the following:
1) rcssserver,
2) rcssbase, and
3)rcssmonitor.
I have OS: Linux (openSUSE 10.3)
I have read the most recent manual provided in http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=24184 which was written in 2003. The problem is that it doesn't give exact steps for installation on Linux except for those who use the package rcsoccersim- (I do not use it because it is old while my professor recommends a recent version [something that was published in 2007 or after that] and I haven't found rcsoccersim- that is published in 2007 or later)
Now My Question is:
Could anyone tell me the exact steps to download a recent simulator or tell me where I can find a good manual to install the simulator given that I'm also a Linux beginner? Or even tell me if there is a recent version for rcsoccersim package
Sorry if I sound dumb in any of my expressions or my concepts; actually I'm brand new to this field :)

You can find a short instruction in README file of rcssserver.
At first, you need to install rcssbase.
Then you can install rcssserver and rcssmonitor.
If necessary, you can also install rcsslogplayer.
Unfortunately, any official manual have not been maintaining until now. I am planning to write a revised one from the end of this month. Please wait for a while.

We are not planning to release the official rcsoccersim-* packhage because it causes the difficulty in the maintenance.
